How to make a Halloween Scarecrow Decoration.

Shopping list

  • 2x roofing laths 1x6ft 1x5ft
  • 2x Hessian fabric
  • 119cm x 2m ( £6 each Hobbycraft)
  • 1xstring (£2 Hobbycraft)
  • Hay
  • Plastic pumpkin head (£10 Morrisons)

Method

Screw laths together into cross shape saw a triangle into bottom to make a spike. Fold one of the Hessian sheets in half and cut a small square out of the fold to fit around the neck of the scarecrow Pull fabric in to create a waist and tie with string. With the other fabric cut it in half then cut one half in half again fold both bits of fabric lengthwise and cut scraggy ribbons 1/3 of the way up place on the arms of the scarecrow and secure with string. Grab a handful of hay and attach to ends of arms with string to create hands. Use some more of the hay to fill out the body and neck.

For the head Place head where you want it to go and draw round with a pen using a knife cut inside the pen lines. Head should fit securely and your done enjoy.
